The Power of Coaching: How the International Coaching Institute Shaped My Coaching Philosophy

  1. Clarity

The first thing I experienced through coaching was clarity. Life coaching enabled me to view my life from a different angle and perspective, and I understood the “Why” of things. It illuminated a pathway towards discovering myself in a deeper way. From a blurry view to a clearer vision, I got more clarity in terms of my goals and what I really wanted. Through clarity, I discovered why I wanted to help people and become a life coach. Clarity enables us to break our own barriers and see the light at the end of the tunnel, hence motivating us to take action to achieve our dreams, goals, and life purposes. It is about seeing a much greater picture than what we had envisioned for ourselves.

2. Empowerment

The Power of coaching has taught me that coaching is not about giving advice to people but empowering them. Empowerment drives self- determination which enables individuals to act on their own authority and represent their own interests. Moreover, empowerment involves having the freedom to make our own choices and decisions that impacts our life. Feeling empowered can lead to increased self-esteem, confidence and a sense of purpose. Through empowerment and their influence, individuals can make an impact on their communities and society hence, engaging action for social change.

3. Trust

In coaching, trust starts with the belief that people are naturally creative, resourceful and whole. Trust creates a safe and supportive environment where one feels comfortable to share their thoughts, feelings and vulnerabilities facilitating personal growth and transformation. Furthermore, trust enables open and honest communication, fostering a collaborative partnership resulting in achieving desired goals. Maintaining client confidentiality builds a foundation of trust, ensuring that one feels secure and protected in sharing personal information.

4. Integrity

Integrity and honesty builds a strong foundation in coaching. Integrity conveys our genuineness and commitment to a strong coaching relationship. Integrity enhances our respect towards the other person. Moreover, integrity encourages openness and trust in the coaching. It is an environment without judgment providing a safe place for learning, discovery and new insights. Integrity helps us to be vulnerable, courageous and helps us to break our barriers and reach new potentials.

5. Compassion

During my coaching journey, I witnessed the power of compassion. Compassion is the art of listening to someone without judgment while acknowledging their emotions and feelings. Compassion is being deeply concerned about the well-being of the other person and focuses in helping people achieve their goals. Through compassion, an individual is more open to new perspectives and is more prone to taking actions. Moreover, it also enhances the human connection hence, the coaching relationship. Compassion creates a ripple effect of positive change which inspires others to act the same way.

6. Self-awareness

Self-awareness promotes personal growth. By encouraging self reflection and exploration, we become aware of our strengths and weaknesses. We become more conscious of how we react, and we become more aware of our patterns and triggers. Moreover, self-awareness drives motivation to make us more conscious human beings. Powerful self reflective questions drive transformation and promote insight. Through self-awareness, we become conscious of our greatest fears and greatest strengths, hence driving positive change. Self-awareness enhances emotional intelligence and impacts how we react to other people, which in turn affects other people as well.

7. Life Purpose and Values

Through life coaching, I connected with my life purpose and my values. Our life purpose is what makes us feel alive deep inside. It is the reason of our being on this planet, what we are meant to accomplish and give to the world. Living a purposeful life makes us feel more fulfilled and brings a sense of satisfaction into our lives. “What are your life values?”, was a question that no one asked me before. Our values are who we are. When we honour our values, we live a more fulfilling life thus, bringing a sense of inner peace in our lives hence, the coaching principles: Fulfilment, Balance and Process.

My Coaching Philosophy

My coaching philosophy is to enlighten people of their own inner light deep inside their core so that they live a fulfilling and purposeful life by honouring their own values, inner power and achieve their highest potential in the areas of their life.

Thus, embarking on a journey of clarity, empowerment, trust, awareness, self-determination, confidence, and compassion, leading them to their utmost potential. Their own light creating a ripple effect to the world.

EMPOWER YOUR INNER LIGHT – COACHING FOR A PURPOSEFUL LIFE

My motto being, “Be the Change You Wish to See in the World” by Mahatma Gandhi.

My coaching philosophy has been shaped by my own experience through my life coaching with Dr. Krishna Athal at the International Coaching Institute. Through life coaching, let us continue to enhance clarity, empowerment, trust, integrity, compassion and self-awareness to people.

What if we can live a fulfilled life by honouring our values and life purpose?
