I believe that I experienced a shift at some point in my life where I wanted something much deeper and more meaningful. I wanted to live a purposeful life and contribute to something more impactful. I was looking for something much beyond the materialistic world. I believe that it was a calling, and life coaching felt like something that resonates with me and my life values. I always love to help people, and life coaching made me realise the importance of my own qualities, like being empathetic, compassionate, and a good listener. Life coaching also brings another kind of self satisfaction, when being able to make a positive impact in the lives of other people and leads to a more fulfilling life. Moreover, life coaching enhances our social connection, fostering a sense of shared humanity.
Another reason that made me choose to do life coaching is the unique approach of the practice. Life coaching has a completely different approach compared to other practices because it is about empowering people and not telling them what to do or give advice. In life coaching, the client is the expert of himself or herself, and the coach’s role is to show the person the way to his or her inner light. Life Coaching starts with the belief that every person is resourceful, creative, and whole. Furthermore, life coaching has a totally non judgmental approach. In life coaching, the focus is more centered on the present and the future. Through SMART goal setting and accountability, the coach helps the coachee to reach his or her greatest potential.
I also believe that life coaching is something that I needed when I was going through my own challenges and struggles because back then, I did not know about life coaching. Since now, I have myself witnessed the impact of life coaching through my transformative life coaching with Dr. Krishna Athal at the International Coaching Institute ICI, I can explain the essence of life coaching to people who are going through challenges or want clarity in their lives. That, in turn, creates a ripple effect. We always look for upgrades on our phones or laptop, life coaching is like upgrading our lives.
Moreover, I believe that when we help people, we forget our own struggles and become less self-centered. Through helping and serving people, we feel a different kind of peace. It is about realising there is a whole bigger world out there. There’s so much more we can do to change or help, and I believe the change starts with us. Hence, my motto is “Be The Change You Wish To See In The World ” by Mahatma Gandhi. If we want more peace, let’s become peaceful ourselves, and if we want love, let’s give love. Like nature, we become a giver.
Life Coaching adopts a holistic approach where it looks at the whole of the person, on a much deeper level. It doesn’t focus only on the goals of a person but also on the inner core and values of the person. The goal of life coaching is to help people live a fulfilled and purposeful life by honouring their life values. Through life coaching, people experience more clarity and awareness, self-confidence, and motivation and experience a sense of happiness and fulfilment. Life coaching also contributes towards improved mental health. I believe it is also about respecting the uniqueness of each individual like the way every tree is different, some trees grow best in the sun, some in water, or in the desert or others in snow.
I chose to integrate yoga with life coaching because I believe both complement each other. Yoga enhances self-awareness and connects us to our inner spiritual level and our essence of our being in the universe. It raises our level of consciousness and makes us realise our importance beyond the material world. Yoga also enhances our emotional regulation and helps us manage stress and anxiety by activating our parasympathetic nervous system. Breathing exercises balance our energy channels in our bodies. Yoga postures enhance our body strength and flexibility. I believe that to reach our full potential, it is essential to nourish our mind, body, and spirit.
Hence, this is my journey to why I decided to become a life coach and serve people. I believe it is only the beginning of an exciting and enriching journey of empowering more people and creating a positive ripple effect across the world. My aim is to enlighten people of their own inner light and power, leading them to a more fulfilling and purposeful life by honouring their own values. Thus, embarking on a powerful journey of clarity, empowerment, trust, self awareness, self-determination, confidence, and compassion, leading them to their utmost potential.
