Through YUVA Mauritius, I got the fantastic opportunity of coaching some 20 women entrepreneurs on a one-to-one basis and I have witnessed major transformations among them including:
1. Clarity of their Business Vision
One of the first transformations I witnessed among women entrepreneurs during the coaching sessions is clarity in terms of their business vision. This process also cleared the doubts they had in mind such as uncertainty or choosing which business to do. They were able to visualise the bigger picture of their dream business. Moreover, they also found clarity in terms of their business purpose. Leading a business with purpose results in a long-term vision that exceeds beyond profit and aligns with the core values of the women entrepreneurs. It is not only about creating a successful business but also making a positive impact to the world. Hence, leading to a more fulfilling life.
2. Shifting Perspectives
Another transformation I have witnessed among women entrepreneurs is the shifting of perspectives. Firstly, it is about recognising and then challenging assumptions. Following which, different perspectives are looked at from different angles. The process also enabled them to reframe challenges and shifting them as opportunities for growth. Thus, making them more apt to embrace change and new ideas which is essential for personal and professional growth. They could find the solutions to their problems hence, resulting in improved problem-solving and leading to effective and creative solutions.
3. Increase in Confidence and Self-esteem
Furthermore, I also observed an increase in their confidence and self-esteem. By empowering them to find their own answers through their own creativity, intelligence and resourcefulness, they showed more confidence. This process also led them to their own self-discovery thus, enhancing their passion and igniting their inner spark. The women realised their strengths and believed even more in themselves. They were able to see what they already accomplished and what more they can accomplish in the future. They became more confident to launch and grow in their businesses.
4. Determination
Moreover, as the sessions progressed the women started to show great determination. They were determined to reach their business objectives. The women were motivated, committed and showed courage to achieve their business goals. Determination helps us to overcome obstacles with resilience and perseverance while staying focused on our vision. The women’s determined mindset also helps them to step outside their comfort zone and make bold decisions. Likewise, determination also enables us to take calculated risks in our businesses. Determination fuels our passion and drives action hence, turning our dreams into reality.
5. Women of Action
By the second session, I witnessed the women in action. Some women had already worked their business model, others enrolled in courses related to their business while some women started to post more on social media to reach more people. Other women applied to financial institutions offering funding facilities to grow their business. Some of them expanded their services to grow their business further. In addition, other women were able to make the decision of choosing a business out of many business ideas that they had. Another woman has already started participating in art exhibitions and inspiring people about her art. Furthermore, some women started to engage with institutions such as the National Women Entrepreneur Council NWEC for networking.
As a life coach and a woman entrepreneur, it was pretty impressive to witness the transformations of these women. Inspired by what I have learned from Dr. Krishna Athal’s coaching principles such as Powerful questioning, Active listening, Reframing techniques, SMART goals setting and Action Planning, I was able to witness the Power of Coaching. I witnessed their transition from doubt to clarity, the shift in their perspectives, their increase in confidence, their passion, determination, commitment and their growth.
Many women mentioned that they have more clarity of what they want and that the sessions gave them a boost to launch and grow in their businesses. Others mentioned that the sessions were very insightful while some women said that the sessions guided them in their path of self-discovery. They also got to know the financial and support institutions available in Mauritius for women entrepreneurs to help them grow in their businesses.
I witnessed the principle of life coaching which starts with the belief that every person is already creative, resourceful and whole. Life Coaching is not about giving people advice but empowering them to find their own answers and illuminate their path. I was also impressed by the business mindset, the passion and determination of these women. I believe that these women entrepreneurs can empower and inspire other women to become entrepreneurs and hence, creating a ripple effect. It has been a great honour for me to have the opportunity of coaching these great women entrepreneurs.
