I believe that spirituality helps us to realign with our inner purpose and reconnect us to our higher self. When our actions reflect our values and inner purpose, that is when we are able to experience a fulfilling life.
How do your actions align with your core values, beliefs and life purpose?
Through integrating spirituality with coaching strategy, we are able to reconnect with our intuition and find our own answers on a much deeper level.
Self-Awareness
Self-awareness leads us to our inner wisdom and true self. Self-awareness reconnects us to our WHY and by observing our mind, we become aware of our thoughts, ego state, our actions and reactions. Moreover, we become aware of our inner strengths and weaknesses. Hence, we are able to notice whether our actions are aligned with our core values and inner self. In doing so, we achieve a greater clarity in terms of our emotions and our goals. Through self-awareness, we engage in a deep journey of growth.
Purpose, Meaning and Fulfilment
Spirituality goes beyond external accomplishments and desires. A person may be rich in terms of money and the material world but doesn’t find true fulfillment and meaning in his life because he is not aligned with his inner life purpose. However, another person may be poor in terms of external or material possessions but lives a fulfilling and purposeful life which brings him peace and self-satisfaction. When we are off-purpose, we may perceive life as a burden where we lack a greater meaning. Spirituality guides us towards our own light and our life purpose, leading us to a fulfilled life.
Deep Healing
Furthermore, spirituality aids in our emotional healing and releases our blockages. Spirituality helps us to detach and heal from situations and people that no longer serves us. Through our mind, body and spirit, spirituality enhances our healing. Spiritual practices like meditation fosters inner peace and reduces stress. Additionally, spiritual practices help people manage depression and anxiety thus, enhancing mental health. When we heal our body, mind and spirit, we open ourselves to greater opportunities and experiences which align with our values and life purpose. Healing brings more positivity in our lives. Spirituality teaches us about resilience helping us to cope with the challenges and ups and downs of our daily lives.
How do we Integrate Spirituality?
- Meditation
Practising meditation starting 5-15 minutes daily propels us in the NOW. Meditation enables us to detach from external expectations and distractions and helps us to focus on our inner purpose and values. In doing so, we achieve more clarity on our pathway and goals. Meditation guides us towards our own light leading us to long-term and sustainable goals. Meditation fosters an inner sense of peace, love and a deeper connection with our self.
- Journaling
Journaling helps us to keep track and become aware of our feelings, reactions, and thoughts. A journal provides a private and non-judgmental space for expression. Through writing, we are able to declutter our mind and find clarity. By engaging in self-reflection, we reconnect with our intuition. Positive affirmation can also help in the process. By engaging in regular journaling, we enhance our self-discovery and enhance our emotional intelligence.
- Spending time in Nature
Nature teaches us about spirituality and our true essence with the universe. We come to the realisation that we are a little speck in the universe and there’s a whole other world out there. This can make a shift in our perspective and how we view our challenges. Through nature, we are able to let go of resistance and cultivate a sense of peace and ease. In doing so, we become in harmony with nature’s flow and achieve a greater flexibility in facing life’s challenges. Spending time in nature can enhance our creativity and help us solve problems with strategy.
My Conclusion
Integrating spirituality with strategy in coaching adopts a complete holistic approach focusing on the wholeness of a person. Spirituality connects our core values and inner purpose to our goals. Personally, I always find my way back to myself through spirituality. Even if the outer world may be overwhelming or chaotic, we can always find our way back to our self and realign with our true essence of being. Like the lotus, I believe we can still blossom in muddy waters. “Water surrounds the lotus flower, but does not wet its petals” ~ Gautama Buddha
